Welcome to Georgette's Learning & Mentorship Academy, a community built on one mission: to help healthcare professionals bridge the gap between education and real-world success through personalized mentorship, clinical excellence, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching, mentoring, and preparing tens of thousands of healthcare professionals, including thousands of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners preparing for board certification. Through both clinical practice and education, I've witnessed one challenge repeatedly: many exceptional clinicians graduate with knowledge but without the confidence, guidance, and mentorship needed to thrive in real-world practice.
That realization inspired me to create this academy.
Our mentorship program goes far beyond helping you pass an exam. We are committed to helping healthcare professionals become confident clinicians, effective leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and lifelong learners.
As the Lead Mentor, I not only mentor healthcare professionals across multiple stages of their careers, but I also personally mentor and develop the outstanding mentors within our academy. Every mentor is carefully selected, trained, and supported to ensure they provide evidence-based guidance, meaningful encouragement, and practical strategies that empower our mentees to succeed.
In addition to education, I am a private practice owner and the founder of Companion Medical Scribe AI, an innovative healthcare technology company dedicated to helping clinicians streamline documentation, improve efficiency, and spend more time focusing on patient care. My journey as both a clinician and entrepreneur has allowed me to understand the unique challenges healthcare professionals face, and how the right mentorship can accelerate both clinical and business success.
Whether you are:
our academy has mentors who have walked those paths and are ready to guide you.
At Georgette's Learning & Mentorship Academy, we believe that no one should have to navigate their professional journey alone. Behind every successful healthcare professional is someone who believed in them, challenged them, and helped them grow.
We would be honored to be part of your journey.
Welcome to Georgette's Learning & Mentorship Academy, where mentorship meets excellence, confidence is cultivated, and future healthcare leaders are developed.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in pediatric nursing and extensive experience in outpatient mental health care, nursing education, and clinical mentorship. I am currently completing my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Florida College of Nursing, where I am also earning a post-master’s certificate in nursing education, with an anticipated completion date of August 2026. I hold two master’s degrees in nursing and have built my career around patient care, education, leadership, and mentorship.
In my clinical practice, I have worked as a psychiatric prescriber in outpatient settings, treating children, adolescents, and adults with conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other complex psychiatric concerns. My pediatric nursing background provides me with a strong foundation in child development, family-centered care, and supporting younger patients through behavioral and mental health challenges.
Alongside my clinical work, I have served as an adjunct nursing instructor and clinical educator, teaching psychiatric nursing concepts to pre-licensure nursing students and supporting learners in both classroom and clinical environments. I have also precepted nurse practitioner students from more than 30 universities and schools, offering guidance in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, clinical decision-making, and professional role development.
As a mentor, I am passionate about helping nursing students, new graduate providers, and aspiring psychiatric nurse practitioners build confidence in their clinical abilities and career paths. My mentorship style is supportive, practical, and individualized, focusing on clinical growth, professional development, work-life balance, and successfully navigating the transition into advanced practice roles.
I am licensed to practice in the state of Florida and deeply enjoy guiding the next generation of psychiatric nurse practitioners as they grow into confident and effective clinicians.

I am passionate about mentoring PMHNPs at all stages of their careers, helping them build clinical confidence, navigate complex cases, and successfully transition to independent practice. As a doctoral-prepared, dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, I draw on my extensive clinical background to provide practical guidance and support for early- and mid-career clinicians.
I specialize in interventional psychiatry for treatment-resistant depression, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (Esketamine), and provide comprehensive medication management for patients across the lifespan—from children as young as four to geriatric patients—through both in-person and virtual appointments. Through these experiences, I offer mentees insight into evidence-based care, patient engagement strategies, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
In addition to my clinical work, I served as an adjunct faculty member at Spring Arbor University and mentor PMHNPs through the Academy of Psychiatry Clinical Excellence & Entrepreneurial Mentorship. I am committed to empowering mentees with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to excel in clinical practice, lead teams, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
I value open collaboration and welcome the opportunity to guide the next generation of PMHNPs as they grow into confident, effective practitioners.

I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in psychiatric care, including community mental health and correctional settings. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana. Much of my work has involved individuals with serious mental illness and complex clinical presentations, which shaped a practical, grounded approach focused on stability and real-world functioning.
I currently practice in telehealth across Florida, Ohio, Kentucky, Nebraska, Montana, Arizona, New Hampshire, Washington, Iowa, and Indiana.
As a mentor, I focus on helping clinicians think through complexity and build confidence in their clinical judgment. Whether you’re newly licensed or more experienced, I meet you where you are. I aim to be a steady, supportive presence as you continue to grow and refine your style as a clinician.

I am Dr. Deidra Thompson, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), educator, mentor, and mental health advocate with a passion for developing the next generation of psychiatric providers.
Since 2019, I have served as an Associate Professor at Walden University, where I have educated and mentored graduate nursing students from across the country. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to helping future nurse practitioners strengthen their clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and confidence as they transition into practice.
In addition to teaching, I have served in several professional leadership roles, including Founding Board Member and Scholarship Chair of the Diverse Coat Society, International Chamber Ambassador for the Business Empowered International Chamber of Commerce, and Legacy Council Member for Grant Me Justice. These experiences have allowed me to support professional growth, leadership development, and educational advancement within the nursing profession.
I am also a national speaker who has presented on topics including psychiatric mental health, resilience, ADHD, suicide prevention, leadership, and professional development at conferences, universities, and professional organizations, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). My work has been featured in national media, podcasts, and publications, including Verywell Mind, where I have contributed to discussions on mental health and public health.
I am honored to have received several professional recognitions, including the 2025 AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions, induction into the Best of Mississippi Hall of Fame (2025), Nurse of the Year (2023), and the Carrie B. Lenburg Excelsior Alumni Award (2025).
As a mentor, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment where mentees feel comfortable asking questions, discussing challenging clinical cases, and developing the confidence needed to provide safe, evidence-based psychiatric care. I believe mentorship is about empowering others to grow professionally, think critically, and become compassionate, confident leaders in psychiatric mental health.
